Valparai, a destination for Tourism and Tea Estate
Hill stations are the best tourist destination for you in Summer. A cool herbal breeze relaxes your mind and soul from the routine. Valparai is one of the beautiful destinations to visit. Valparai is full of Tea and Coffee plantations.
I’m very much addicted to Tea. I found Valparai, a well-known place to explore more about my all-time favorite TEA. Can you believe “the tea you consume is sourced from Valparai”.
After knowing this stat, I decided to spend my refreshment trip at Valparai. I love to go for a long drive and kickstart my travel from Coimbatore towards Valparai. Once I reached the bottom hills, I started to feel the chill climate and pleasant smell.
The entire bike ride gave the best treat to my eyes. Green. Green. Everywhere Green. The hills are completely enclosed and covered with TEA ESTATE. Wow!
Valparai, a place for Tea Lovers
I just made a stop at a Bakery to drink some tea. The taste was so good and you won’t believe me if I say that I drank 2 cups of tea in a single go. I started a chit-chat with one of the locals to know why the Tea tastes so good here.
The reason is they use Tea Leaves cultivated within the locals. Later, I resumed my ride after a soul-touching Tea. During my ride, I noticed many leading Tea producers are sourcing tea leaves harvested from Valparai.
I did some research about the tea estates located in Valparai. The tea plantations are mostly owned by the private estate players.
Tea Estates, the game changer of Valparai
Valparai holds 12500 hectares of teas. It is the second-largest tea leaves contributor to the Tea Harvest in Tamil Nadu. On average, tea leaves are harvested at 750 kg per acre at the peak.
Tea Estate in Valparai harvests the export quality tea leaves and these leaves have high demand in the market.
Tea Estates have world-class infrastructure and many of the tea estates are tied up to harvest the leaves for the leading tea producers in the domestic and international market.
Roughly, the estates in Valparai alone employ more than 10,00,000.
People from neighboring states like Kerala, Assam, and West Bengal are employed along with the local people.
Tea Estates adds extra beauty to the hill stations. Estate processes and delivers different flavors to the people across different locations.
A day out in Valparai
Some factories are opened to the common during the harvest season. Luckily, I got a chance to visit the factory. Altogether, it was an awesome experience.
I booked a resort located in the middle of a tea estate and a river stream running between the tea plantations. This road trip definitely has a special place in my heart.
Adding to this experience, the tourists from different locations are vigorously making a stop at the tea estate outlets to buy for their daily consumption.
In fact, I too made a small unit transaction to share with my beloved ones.
I do recommend you take a taxi ride to experience the best and refresh your mood at Valparai Tea Estates.
